Overview

The service, without the fluff.

What it is

Managed hotel and concierge security: lobby and reception presence, controlled access to residents' floors, night porter cover, incident response, room-turn support, evictions and eviction stand-by, discreet VIP escort and liaison with your duty manager throughout the shift.

Who it's for

Independent hotels, boutique properties, serviced apartments, aparthotels, members' clubs and hospitality groups across Bristol, Bath, Cardiff and the wider UK that need a professional guest-facing presence, not a body on the door.

When you need it

Contracted overnight cover, weekend and event cover, seasonal high-occupancy periods, festival weekends and one-off high-risk stays. Short-notice cover available when your regular provider or night porter cancels.

Why professional matters

Hotels are judged on presence at 2am as much as on breakfast at 8am. A poorly briefed guard behind reception damages guest reviews, exposes duty managers to lone-working risk, and leaves the property under-defended against real incidents, from intoxicated guests to attempted room breaches.

What happens if you leave it

The cost of the wrong provider, or none at all.

Risk

Guest review damage

Rude, uniformed heavy-handedness at 1am ends up in a review within 24 hours. In hospitality the security team is the property brand, get it wrong and rate-per-night drops with it.

Risk

Lone-working exposure for duty managers

Duty managers left alone overnight to handle intoxicated guests, disputes or medical incidents is a serious duty-of-care issue, and increasingly a factor in staff retention.

Risk

Uncontrolled access to residents' floors

Tail-gating past reception, unauthorised access to guest floors or key-card sharing puts every resident at risk and every room at claim risk.

Risk

Room-turn & eviction risk

Evicting a non-paying or disruptive guest without trained security is a physical and legal risk. Getting it wrong ends up in court, in insurance, or in a viral video.

Risk

VIP handling mistakes

High-net-worth, celebrity or corporate VIP guests expect a discreet, competent presence, not a spotlight. Wrong posture = complaint from the exact guest you built the suite for.

Risk

Coverage gaps at handover

The dead time between last shift and first shift is where losses happen: pilfering, guest walkouts, unpaid bills. Continuous concierge cover closes that gap.

Our process

A clear system, from first call to sign-off.

  1. Step 01

    Property brief & walk-round

We walk the property with your GM or duty manager, review layout, incident history and known risk points, and agree the cover profile.

  2. Step 02

    Written cover plan

Costed proposal: officer numbers per shift, uniform, radio plan, duty-manager integration and escalation protocol.

  3. Step 03

    Onboard & induct

Officers are inducted to your property SOPs, fire plan, PMS access as needed, and any brand standards you operate to.

  4. Step 04

    Deploy & integrate

Team works alongside your duty manager and night team. Named supervisor is your single point of contact and picks up escalations.

  5. Step 05

    Report & review

Written shift report each morning; regular review meetings with your GM to tune cover to occupancy and incident pattern.

Benefits

What you actually get out of it.

Guest-facing standards

Officers presented, briefed and spoken like hospitality staff, because at 2am they are your hospitality staff.

Duty-manager protection

No more lone-working overnight; incidents are handled two-up, calmly and by the book.

Controlled access

Reception, lifts and residents' floors properly controlled without turning the lobby into an airport.

Discreet VIP handling

High-net-worth and celebrity guests handled with the low-key competence they pay for.

Written incident log

Every shift produces a written log, the paperwork you need for insurers, brand audits and licensing.

One accountable supplier

One supervisor, one contract, one invoice, not a rota of unrelated freelancers.

The detail

Methods, variations and how we deploy.

A single page can't replace a walk-around and a written proposal, but this is what the work looks like in practice, so you know what you're comparing.

Overnight concierge & night porter cover

Our core hotel offer is contracted overnight cover, a professional, uniformed, SIA-licensed presence in your lobby and behind reception from close-of-front-desk to first shift. Officers handle late arrivals, taxi and transport coordination, controlled access, noise complaints and any incident that would otherwise land on a lone duty manager. Where you already have a night porter, we back them up rather than replace them.

Controlled access & residents' floor security

Tail-gating and unauthorised access to guest floors is one of the most common hotel security failures. We agree an access policy with you, lift control, key-card checks, visitor policy after a certain hour, and enforce it calmly at the lobby. Residents notice; opportunists notice faster.

Incident response & de-escalation

Intoxicated guests, disputes at the bar, welfare concerns in-room, attempted room-breaches, hotels see it all. Trained door supervisors are the right profile for this: they de-escalate verbally first, physical intervention only if unavoidable, and they know when to call the police. Incidents are written up before end of shift.

Evictions, non-paying guests & problem stays

Removing a non-paying or disruptive guest is a specific skill. Done wrong it's a viral video, a police complaint or a claim. Done right it's a calm conversation at a door, followed by a controlled departure. We handle those situations with the paperwork behind us, and we brief your duty manager on how to log the incident from the property side.

VIP, celebrity & high-net-worth guests

For high-profile guests we offer discreet meet-and-greet from car to suite, controlled lift and floor access, and a low-key overnight presence on the floor if required. We integrate with client-side protection teams where they exist rather than duplicating them, and we understand that discretion is the entire product.

Weekend, festival & high-occupancy cover

Bristol, Bath and Cardiff hotels feel the pressure of festival weekends, sporting events and stag/hen traffic. Uplifted cover for those weekends, a second officer, a floor patrol, an eviction stand-by, is far cheaper than the damage claim or brand hit that a single bad weekend can produce.

FAQs

Answers to the questions we hear most.

Do your hotel officers wear branded uniform or something more guest-facing?

+

Both. We deploy in AV Group uniform as standard, or in a smart concierge-style presentation to match your brand standard. We agree the look with you before the first shift.

Can officers work alongside our existing night porter?

+

Yes. Most properties keep their night porter for guest service and use our team for security cover, the two roles complement each other overnight.

Do you cover evictions and non-paying guests?

+

Yes. Our door-supervisor-trained officers handle evictions and problem-guest removals calmly and with the correct paperwork, an area a lot of general security firms won't touch.

Are officers DBS-checked?

+

Yes. DBS checks are held on file for our staff and Enhanced DBS is applied where the role requires it.

Do you provide a written report each morning?

+

Yes. Every shift ends with a written incident and activity log delivered to your duty manager or GM.

Can you cover just weekends and event nights?

+

Yes. We do contracted 7-night cover, weekend-only cover and event-uplift cover, quoted transparently.

Do you carry public and employers' liability insurance?

+

Yes. PL and EL certificates are provided for your brand or insurer compliance file on request.

How quickly can you stand up cover if our provider cancels?

+

For short-notice hotel cover we can commonly deploy inside 24 hours across Bristol, Bath and the wider South West.
